1.0 A eal Hearing - Vlatko Boskovich
The Committee held an in camera discussion regarding the
appeal of the applicant to retain his taxicab driver's license.
The meeting moved In Camera in accordance with the provisions
of Procedural By-law 6746/07, as the matter related to personal
information about an individual.
Refer to the In Camera minutes dated November 26, 2009. [The
City Clerk has custody and control of the In Camera minutes].
K. Thompson called Mr. Boskovich into the room and informed
him that the Committee had no concerns. Mr. Boskovich was
provided the opportunity to address the Committee. He stated
that he is currently looking into applying for a pardon to clear his
record.
Mr. Boskovich left the room. A brief discussion period ensued.
Further to confidential deliberations, the Committee hereby
recommends the following:
1. That Vlatko Boskovich be granted a two-year City of
Pickering taxicab driver's license; and

K. Thompson informed the Committee that Rapid Taxi had
received a proposal for advertising on the back seats of their taxi
cabs. She provided the Committee with a sample of the
proposed advertising as well as a copy of the excerpt from the
Taxicab By-law pertaining to advertising.
A brief discussion period ensued with respect to this matter.
K. Thompson noted that the City has no objections to this
proposal for advertising, the only concerns would be with the
public's perception. She also noted that the issue of whether or
not to advertise would be the decision of the brokerage company.
If there are any issues relating to the advertising between the
brokerage company and drivers or plate owners, the City would
not become involved.
The Committee then resumed into open session.
