THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PICKERING
BY-LAW NO. 6917/08
Being a by-law to repeal By-law Number
6167/03 for the purpose of increasing the
members of the Pickering Public Library
Board
WHEREAS pursuant to Section 9(1) of the Public Libraries Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. P.44,as
. amended, a public library board shall be composed of . at least five members appointed
by the municipal council;
WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the City of Pickering enacted By-law
Number 6167/03 on July 28, 2003; and
WHEREAS in a motion passed by the City of Pickering on November 17, 2008, it was
recommended.that the Board be comprised of ten members;
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCil OF THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY
OF PICKERING HEREBY ENACTS AS FOllOWS:
1. The City of Pickering Public Library Board shall be corn posed of ten members
appointed by the Council of the Corporation of the City of Pickering;
2. By-law Number 6167/03 is hereby repealed.
By-law read a first,. second and third time and finany passed this 8th day of December,
2008.
