THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PICKERING
BY-LAW NO 6785/07
A By-law to confirm the proceedings of the Council of the
Corporation of the City of Pickering at its Special, Council Meeting
of June 25, 2007
WHEREAS pursuant to Section 5(1) of the Municipal Act, 2001,.S.0. 2001, c.
M.25, as amended, the powers of a municipality shaH be exercised by its council;
and
WHEREAS pursuant to Section 5(3) of the said Act, a municipal power, including
a municipality's capacity, rights, powers and privileges under Section 80t the
s.aid Act, shall be exercised by ,by-law unless the municipality is specifically
authorized to do otherwise; and
WHEREAS it is deemed expedient that the proceedings of the Council of the
Corporation of the City of Pfcker'ing at this meeting be confirmed and adopted by
By-law;
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF
PICKERING ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:

The actions of the Special Council of the, Corporation ,of ,the City of
Pickering at its Meeting of June 25, 2007 in respect of each
recommendation contained in the Reports of the Committees and each
motion and resolution P8.ssed and other action taken by the Council of the
Corporation of the City of Pickering afthis meeting, is hereby adopted and
confirmed as if all such proceedings were expres~"ly embodied, in this By-
law;
2. The Mayor and proper officials of the Corporation of the City ,of Pickering
are hereby authorized and directed to do all things necessary to give effect
to the action of the Council of the Corporation of the Cit.yof Pickering
referred to in the preceding section hereof;
3. The Mayor andelerk are hereby authorized al1d directed to execute aU
documents necessary in that behalf and to affix thereto the .Seal of the
Corporation of the City of Pickering.
By-law read a First, Second and Third time and finally passed this 23rd day of
July, 2007. ' ,
