BY-LAW NO. 6607/05
Being a by-law to appoint persons as Lottery
Licensing Officers for The Corporation of the
City of Pickering.
WHEREAS Order-in-Council 2688/93 of the Government of Ontario states that a
municipal council may, where it deems it to be in the best interests of the
inhabitants of the municipality, issue a licence authorizing an eligible charitable
organization to conduct and manage lottery schemes; and
WHEREAS it is deemed expedient to delegate this authority to various staff of
The Corporation of the City of Pickering to act as Lottery Licensing Officers;
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF
PICKERING HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
That Council of The Corporation of the City of Pickering hereby delegates
its authority to the following staff to issue a licence authorizing an eligible
charitable organization to conduct and manage lottery schemes in
accordance with applicable Provincial legislation:
Debi A. Bentley, City Clerk
Debbie Shields, Deputy Clerk
Adriana Buchan, Administration Clerk
Eileen Maughan, Administration Clerk
Christine Richardson, Administration Clerk
For the purpose of issuing a licence for a lottery scheme, the persons set
out in Section 1 of this By-law shall be known as Lottery Licensing
Officers.
3. That By-law No. 5750/00 be hereby repealed.
BY-LAW read a first, second and third time and finally passed this 19th day of
December, 2005.
