BY-LAW NO. 6579/05
Being a by-law to amend By-law 6522/05,
to appoint Debbie Shields as the Deputy Clerk of
The Corporation of the City of Pickering.
WHEREAS pursuant to Section 228(1) of the Municipal Act, 2001, S.O. 2001,
c. 25, as amended, a municipality shall appoint a deputy clerk whose duty it is in
the absence of the City Clerk;
(a) to record, without note or comment, ali resolutions, decisions and other
proceedings of the council;
(b) if required by any member present at a vote, to record the name and vote
of every member voting on any matter or question;
(c) to keep the originals or copies of ali by-laws and of all minutes of the
proceedings of the council;
(d) to perform the other duties required under this Act or under any other Act;
and
(e) to perform such other duties as are assigned by the municipality; and
WHEREAS pursuant to Section 228(2) of the said Act, a municipality may
appoint deputy clerks who have all the powers and duties of the clerk under this
and any other Act;
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF
PICKERING HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. That Debbie Shields is hereby appointed Deputy Clerk of The Corporation
of the City of Pickering effective September 19, 2005.
BY-LAW read a first, second and third time and finally passed this 19th day of
September 2005.
