Rose - Chief Administrative Officer (7:05 pm) - Director, Operations & Emergency Services (7:05 pm) - Director, Planning & Development (7:05 pm) - Director, Corporate Services & Treasurer (7:05 pm) - Division Head, Corporate Projects & Policy (7:05 pm) - City Clerk - Manager, Policy (7:05 pm) ~ Resolution #27/04 Moved by Councillor McLean Seconded by Councillor Pickles That pursuant to Section 239(4) of the Municipal Act, 2001, S.D. 2001 the Council of the Corporation of the City of Pickering hereby resolves to conduct a closed meeting to discuss a personnel matter. CARRIED Special Council Meeting Minutes Monday, February 23, 2004 6:40 pm Mayor Ryan distributed a Confidential Memorandum dated February 23, 2004 from himself to Members of Council regarding the Chief Administrative Officer. Resolution #28/04 Moved by Councillor Holland Seconded by Councillor Brenner That the recommendation set out in the Confidential Memorandum dated February 23, 2004 from Mayor Ryan to Members of Council regarding the Chief Administrative Officer be adopted. CARRIED The Chief Administrative Officer gave an overview of the negotiations with the Pickering Professional Firefighters Association. Resolution #29/04 Moved by Councillor Holland Seconded by Councillor Pickles That Council rise from this In Camera session at 7:25 pm CARRIED 1. The Director, Operations & Emergency Services advised Members of Council that he received a letter from the Region of Durham dated February 12, 2004 asking him to confirm the Regional Road Priorities set out in Report OES 39-03 and adopted by Council on January 19, 2004. It was the consensus of Council that there were no changes to the Priorities and that the Director shall advise the Region accordingly. 2. Mayor Ryan asked that representatives of Hydro One and the TRCA be invited to speak at a Council or Executive Committee Meeting about the oil spill that occurred at the Cherrywood Transformer Station and that concerned residents be notified of this meeting. Mayor Ryan reported that he and the Division Head, Corporate Projects & Policy attended a meeting of the Nuclear Host Communities in Ottawa on February 18, 2004. He noted that this group unanimously adopted Pickering's resolution with respect to nuclear liability, that the request for funding for peer reviews of various reports was being considered and alternatives to the term "public alerting" and methods of such alerting was considered. 3. Mayor Ryan distributed a letter he received from the Minister of Municipal Affairs dated February 10, 2004 regarding development issues in north Pickering.
