Being a by-law to adopt the Toren Centre
Study prepared by Ian MacPherson
Associates Limited and dated October,
1977.
WHEREAS pursuant to subsection 2 of Section E1 of The Regional
Municipality of Durham Act, 1973, Sa 1973, C.78, the Regional
Council may consider amendments to its official Flan as
proposed by an area municipality and approve the said amendments
and forward them to the minister of Housing for his approval;
AND WHEREAS it is deemed expedient t(,> reconnend an amendment
to the proposed Official Plan of the Regional Municipality of
Durham for the development of a Town Centre,
NOW' 'T'HEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPOR.kTI0% OF THE TOWN OF
PICKERING HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. The District Plan Study for the Pickering Main Central.
Area in Special Study Area No. 4, as defined in the
proposed official Plan of the Region=al Municipality of
Durham, which study is dated October, 1977 and was
prepared by Ian MacPherson Associates Limited for the
Town of Pickering as hereby adopted.
2. The Clerk is hereby directed to forward the said Study
to the Regional Municipality of Durham for its considsration,
and if deemed acceptable approved by the Regional Council
be forwarded to the Minister of Housing for his approval
as an amendment to the proposed Official Plan of the
Regional Municipality of Durham.
By-law read a First, Second and Third time and PASSED this
Fifth day of December , 1977.
