APPOINTMENT OF BY-LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS

OTHER BUSINESS
Mayor Arthurs advised of a community presentation and media conference
scheduled for Wednesday, May 14th with respect to the Growth Management
Study and the two Ministerial Zoning Orders.
Councillor Johnson stated that, although he would like to be in attendance at the
community presentation and media conference, he has a prior commitment as
Chair of the Regional Works Committee at their regularly scheduled meeting.
The following matters were discussed prior to the regular meeting:
a) The Chief Administrative Officer distributed copies of the Region of Durham,
Planning Committee's Report No. 2003-P-56 concerning the North Pickering
Development - Recent Actions by the Minister of Municipal Affairs and
Housing.

That the Committee of the Whole of the City of Pickering having met on May 12, 2003,
presents its fifth report to Council and recommends:

ESTABLISHMENT OF AL TONA FOREST NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH
1.
1. That the letter from the Durham Regional Police Service dated April 24, 2003
endorsing the establishment of the Altona Forest Neighbourhood Watch, be
received; and
2. That the Council of the Corporation of the City of Pickering hereby endorses
the Altona Forest Neighbourhood Watch and approves the installation of
Neighbourhood Watch signs at the entrances to the subject area.
