BY-LAW NUMBER
A By-law of the Corporation of the
Township of Pickering to set a date,
hour and place for receiving nominations
for candidates for Council for the years
1970 and 1971 and the date and hours of
elections if necessary, and to establish
an Advance Poll.
The Municipal Council of the Township of Pickering ENACTS AS
FOLLOWS:
1. THAT the place for receiving ~ominations for the offices
of Reeve, Depu~y-R?eve, and five Councillors for the
Township of Picker~ng shall be in:
(1) The Pickering District High School
Church Street North, Pickering, Ontario.
on Friday the 21st day of November, 1969, and that the
hour during which such nominations shall be received shall
commence at 7 o'clock p.m., and end at the hour of 8 p.m.
in the evening.
2, THAT should an election be necessary for such offices, a
poll of the electors will be held on Saturday, the 6th
day of December, the location of such polling places for
such election will be named in another by-law. The hours
during which such polls will be open will be between ~he
hours of l0 o'clock a.m. and 8 o~clock p.m.
3.(a)An advance poll is hereby established for the purpose of
receiving the votes of voters of all polling subdivisions
who are Qualified to vote a~ an advance poll.
(b)The poll will be located in the Township building and ~he
pollin8 place will be open between %he hours of 3:00
o'clock and 9:00 o'clock in hhe afternoon on the
Wednesday preceding the first Saturday in December.
~o THAT By-law Number 3376 be and the same is hereby repealed.
