BY-LAW NUMBER 3572
A By-law to amend By-laws Numbers
3472, 3194, 3207, 3405 and 3444
of The Corporation of the Township
of Picketing.
WHEREAS the Council of The Corporation of the Township
of Picketing on the 18th day of March, 1968 passed By-law
Number 3472 to authorize the purchase of 18.6637 acres of
land in Lot 19, Range 3, for industrial sites and also to
authorize the issue of Debentures in the principal amount of
$50,000 payable in lawful money of Canada to pay part of the
cost of the said lands;
AND WHEREAS no Debentures have been issued under the
authority of said By-law and it is now deemed advisable to
issue and sell Debentures expressed and payable in dollars of
the United States of America, instead of in lawful money of
Canada, for the aforementioned purpose;
AND WHEREAS the said Council on the 12th day of
June, 1967 passed By-law Number 3194, on the 21st day of
November, 1966 passed By-law Number 3207, on the 5th day of
February, 1968 passed By-law Number 3405 and on the llth day
of March, 1968 passed By-law Number 3444 to authorize the
construction of the various works described in the said By-laws;
AND WHEREAS it is provided in each of said By-laws
Numbers 3194, 3207, 3405 and 3444 that the Debentures to be
issued to pay the cost of the works described in said By-laws
shall bear interest at a rate other than 7-1/2% per annum;
AND WHEREAS it is now deemed advisable to issue and
sell Debentures bearing interest at the rate of 7-1/2% per
annum to pay the costs of the works described in said By-laws;
AND WHEREAS it is provided in paragraph 1 of said
By-law Number 3207 that the cost of the sanitary sewers referred
to in said paragraph shall be paid by an annual rate of 91¢ per
foot on the lands therein referred to, and it is provided in
paragraph 3 of said By-law that the cost of the watermains
referred to in said paragraph shall be paid by an annual rate
of 66¢ per foot on the lands therein referred to;
AND WHEREAS, the actual costs of the said works being
less than was estimated, a rate of only 70¢ per foot frontage
will be required to pay the cost of the said sanitary sewers and
a rate of only 52~ per foot frontage will be required to pay the
cost of the said watermains.
NOW THEREFORE, the Council of The Corporation of
the Township of Picketing enacts as follows:
1. THAT paragraphs 2 to 9, both inclusive, of and
Schedule "B" to said By-law Number B~?2 of the Corporation be
and are hereby repealed.
2. THAT paragraph 2 of By-law Number 319~ of the
Corporation passed on the 12th day of June~ 1967 be and is
hereby amended by substituting the figures "?-1/2" for the
figures "6-3/~" where the latter figures appear in the said
paragraph.
THAT paragraph 6 of By-law Number 320? of the Corpora-
tion passed on the 21st day of November, 1966 be and is hereby
amended by substituting the figures "7-1/2" for the figures
"6-1/2" where the latter figures appear in the said paragraph.
4. THAT paragraphs 3 and 6 of By-law Number 3405 of the
Corporation passed on the 5th day of February, 1968 be and are
hereby amended by substituting the figures "7-1/2" for the
figures "7-1/~" where the latter figures appear in the said
paragraphs, respect ively.
5. THAT paragraphs 3 and 6 of By-law Number 3~ of the
Corporation passed on the llth day of March, 1968 be and are
hereby amended by substituting the figures "?-1/2" for the
figures "?-1/4" where the latter figures appear in the said
paragraphs, respectively.
6. THAT paragraph I of said By-law Number 320? be and
is hereby amended by deleting the figures and symbol "91¢"
where they appear in the said paragraph and substituting there-
for the figures and symbol "70¢", and that paragraph 3 of said
By-law be and is hereby amended by deleting the figures and
symbol "66¢" where they appear in the said paragraph and
substituting therefor the figures and symbol "52~".
READ a first~ second and third time and finally passed
by a vote of three-fourths of all the members of the Council
