Being a by-law to amend by-law number 3212,
designating through highways
WHEREAS clause 26 of subsection 1 of section 1 of The Highway
Traffic Act, R.S.O. 1960, Chapter 172 (1) provides that:
"through highway" means any highway or part of a highway des-
ignated as such by the Minister or by by-law of a municipality
approved by the Department, and every such highway shall be
marked by a stop sign or yield right-of-way sign in compliance
with the regulations of the Department.
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Township
of Pickering enacts as follows:
1. Section 1 of By-law Number 3212 is amended by adding the
following:
Hiqhway From To
Wellington Street 50' to east of Brock Road Lorne Street
2. The penalties provided in section 85 of The Highway Traffic
Act shall apply to offences against this by-law.
3. This by-law shall not become effective until approved by
the Department of Transport.
