Being a by-law to amend By-law
Number 3212, designating through highways
WHEREAS clause 26 of subsection 1 of section 1 of The Highway
Traffic Act, R.S.O. 1960, Chapter 1721 provides that:
"through highway" means any highway or part of a highway des-
ignated as such by the Minister or by by-law of a municipality
approved by the Department, and every such highway shall be
marked by a stop sign or yield right-of-way sign in compliance
with the regulations of the Department
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Township
of Pickering enacts as follows:
1. Section 1 of By-law Number 3212 is amended by deleting
therefrom the following:
Highway From To
Church Street 50' north of County Road ~24 Village of Pickering
Concession Seven 50' east of Markham Townline 50' west of Brock R~.
Dunbar Avenue 50~ east of Pairport Rd. 50' west of exit t~
Hwy. 2
And Substituting the following so that it shall read:
Church Street Village ef Pickering 50' south of Conc. 4
Concession Seven 5~' east ef Markham Townline 50' west of Sideline
28-29
Concession Seven 5~' east of Sideline 28-29 50' west of Brock Rd.
Concession Seven 5~' east of BrQck Rd. 50' west of Whitby
Townline
Dixie Road 5~' south of Concession 2 50' north of Number
2 Highway
Dunbarton Road 55' east of Fairport Rd. 50' west of Dixie
Road
2. The penalties provided in section 85 of The Highway Traffic
Act shall apply to offences against this by-law.
3. By-law Number 3217 A is hereby repealed.
4. This by-law shall not become effective until approved by the
Department of Transport.
