Being a by-law to amend By-law
Number 3212, designating through
highways.
WHEREAS Clause 26 of Subsection 1 of Section I of The
Highway Traffic Act, R.S.O. 1960, Chapter 172, provides that:
"th~'ough highway" means any highway or part of a
highway designated as such by the Minister or by
by-law of a municipality approved by the Depart-
ment and every such highway shall be marked by a
stop sign or yield right-of-way sign in compliance
with the regulations of the Department."
NOW THEREFORE the Council of The Corporation of The
Township of Pic.~ering enacts as follows:
~ 1. The following highways or parts of highways under the
jurisdiction of the Township of Pickering are designated as
through highways:

Concession Seven 50' east of Markham 50' west of Sideline
Townline 28-29
" " 50' east of Sideline 50' west of Brock Road
28-29
~'~' . The designation in Section 1 of this by-law of a highway or
para.of a highw ay as a through highway shall not include any inter-
section thereon where the road intersection is a King's Highway or
where traffic control signals are installed.
~ ' The penalties provided in Section 85 of The Highway Traffic
Act'~sh~ll apply to offences against this by-law.
~%~? This by-law shall not become effective until approved by t~
Depa~6~ent .of Transport.
~t~.~'~ By-law Number 3212 is hereby amended to the extent necessary
too-ve~ effect to this by-law.
