authorize a Project in Observance and Commemoration of the
Centennial.
WHEREAS the Confederation Centennial Act 1962-63 provides
that Municipal Councils may make expenditures for or grants
toward the observance or the commemoration of the Centennial.
AND WHEREAS it is desirable to observe and commemorate the
Centennial by the creation of a Park at Part Lot 19,
Concession 2.
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Municipal Corporation of the
Township of Pickering Enacts as Follows:
~ 1. That in observance and commemoration of the Centennial,
~ the Corporation shall, for the purpose created a
Park, and Athletic Field and to provide recreational
facilities, in accordance with Schedule "A" attached
hereto, at an estimated cost of $37,000.00.
2. That the Reeve and Clerk be and they are hereby
5 authorized and directed to make applications
pursuant to the provisions of the regulations made
under the Confederation Centennial Act 1962-63
for a grant in aid of the project.
/~ 3. This by-law shall not take effect until the approval
of the Department of Municipal Affairs Centennial
Committee has been obtained.
