BY-LAW NUMBER 3172
A By-law to amend By-laws Numbers 2908, 2927
and 2944.
WHEREAS the Council of The Corporation of the Township
of Pickering has heretofore passed By-laws Numbers 2908, 2927 and
2944 to authorize the construction of the respective works referred
to therein;
AND WHEREAS it is stated in By-law Number 2908 that the
Debentures to be issued to pay the cost of the work described
therein shall bear interest at the rate of 5-3/4% per annum and in
By-laws Numbers 2927 and 2944 that the Debentures to be issued to
pay the costs of the works described in said By-laws, respectively,
shall bear interest at the rate of 6% per annum;
AND WHEREAS it is proposed that Debentures to be issued
to pay the costs of the said works shall bear interest at rates
other than those referred to in the said By-laws.
NOW THEREFORE, the Council of The Corporation of the
Township of Pickering enacts as follows:
1. THAT said By-law Number 2908 be amended by the deletion
of the words "bearing interest at 5-3/4% per annum" in the third
line of Schedule "A" thereof.
2. THAT said By-law Number 2927 be amended by the deletion
of the words "bearing interest at the rate of 6% per annum" in
the second and third lines of paragraph 8 thereof.
3. THAT said By-law Number 2944 be amended by the deletion
of the words bearing interest at the rate of 6% per annum" in the
sixth line of paragraph 2 thereof.
