A BY-LAW TO AUTHORIZE A PROJECT IN OBSERVANCE AND COMMEMOR-
ATION OF THE CENTENNIAL, AND TO REPEAL BY-LAW NUMBER 3117.
W~EREAS the Confederation Centennial Act 1962/63 provides
that Municipal Councils may make expenditures for or grants
toward the observance or the commemoration of the Centennial;
AND WHEREAS it is desirable to observe and commemorate the
Centennial by a Centennial Park for the Township of Pickering;
ENACTS AS FOLLOWS
1.THAT in observance and commemoration of the Centennial
the Corporation shall purchase land for a Centennial
~,~ Park in part of Lot 19, Concession 2, at an estimated
cost of Forty T~ousand Dollars ($40,000.00).
2. THAT the Reeve and the Clerk be and they are hereby
authorized and directed to make application pursuant
to the provisions of the regulations made under the
Confederation Centennial Act 1962/63 for a grant in
aid of the project.
3. THAT the share of the cost of such project which is
to be borne by the Township of Pickering shall be
· provided for in the budget estimates for the year 1966.
.4. THAT By-Law Number 3117 be and the same is hereby repealed.
