BY-LAW NIrMBER 3144
being a by-law to authorize the sale of
an industrial site comprising part of Lot
24 in Concession 1 of the Township of
Picketing to Rootes Motors Canada Limited.
WHEREAS the Corporation of the Township of Pickerin~
is the owner of 27.121 acres of land more or less in Lot 24 in
Concession l, the said lands being shown edged in red on a plan
of survey by D.$. McIntosh, O.L.8. dated December 27th, 1965,
which plan is attached to a draft deed between the Corporation
of the Township of Pickerin~ as Grantor, and Rootes Motors
Canada Limited as Grantee, dated April 14th, 1966;
AND W~EREAS the lands shown on the said survey as
parcels containing 0.017 acres, 10.864 acres and 10.706 acres
were purchased by the Corporation of the Township of Picketing
for the purpose of establishing an industrial site, which pu~-
chase was duly authorized by By-law 3135;
AND WH~.~REAS the land shown on the said survey as
"Kiwanis Club Lands - Inst. # 108705" were purchased by the
Corporation of the Township of Pickering for the purpose of
establishing an industrial site, which purchase was duly author-
ized by By-law Number 3143;
AND WHEREAS the land shown on the said survey as
"Picketing Township Lands - Inst. # 110297" were conveyed to
the Corporation of the Township of Pickering as a condition of
the Planning Board of the Township of Pickering consenting to
a subdivision of land;
AND WHEREAS Rootes Motors (Canada) Limited has agreed
to purchase all of the said lands at the price of ~4,000.00 per
acre and by By-law Number 3115 the Reeve and Clerk were author-
ized to accept the offer to purchase the aforesaid lands.
NOW THEKEFORE BE IT AND IT IS HEREBY ENACTED:
1. That a parcel of land in Lot 24 in Concession 1 of
the Township of Pickering having an area of 27.121 acres more
or less be sold to Rootes Motors Canada Limited at the price
of ~,000.00 per acre in accordance with the terms of an offer
to purchase submitted to the Township.
2. That %he Reeve and Clerk are hereby authorized
execute all documents necessary to complete the said sale
Rootes Motors Canada Limited.
