~;I-~ERliA3 Section 41 sub-section 3 of The ~,ighway Traffic Act R.~,.O.
1950 provides that:
The o~erator or driver of ever7 vehicle or car of an electric rail~:a),
shall before entering or crossing a ti~rougl~ i~ighway bring the vehicle
or car to a full sto~ immediately before entering the nearesta'osswalk;
"Through i-lighways'' means any highway or part of a highx;ay designated
as such by the 5~inister or by ~y-law of the municipality a~q~roved
by the Dei;artment, and every suc~ highway shall be marked to com~,ly
with thc regulations of t~e Dei;artment;

Picketing ENACTS AS FOLLOkS:
1. Ti~AT by-LaYJ Number 2428, which amends by-law Number 1904, be
amended as follows;
The following highways and parts of highways in the Townshit~ of
Pickering are designated as "Through iiighways:"
(a) ThAT Rodd Avenue be designated as a through i~ight,~ay from
the East limit of Registered Plan 233 to Dyson Road.
THAT part of Clause 1 that no~ reads "Rosebank Road from
Canadian National Rail~?ay tracks to a point 50 feet norti~
of Toynevale Road" be a~endcd to read "I<osebanklBad ~om
a.l~eint 50 feet norti~ of Rodd Avenue to a point S0 feet
nort~ of Toynevale Road.
(c) T~AT part of Clause 1 that now reads "DTson Read,om
~iest Point Crescent to the North l~est corner of~t 3,
Plan 274" be amended to read "Dyson Road from :est Point
Crescent to Rodd Avenue."
(d) TiiAT part of Clause 1 that now rea~s "hillview from a
point S0 feet west of Fairvort Road to a point ~ Met
east of ~oore Road" be amended to read "Oklahoma Drive
from a point 50 feet west of Fairport Road to;,~ore
(e) TiiAT ~art of Clause 1 that now reads "~:oore Road
feet south of l-iillview Avenue to a point S0 feet souti~
of [iighway 401" bc now amended to read 'Uloore!bad ~om
Oklahm;m Drive to a point 50 feet sout~ of~d. ghway ~,3o. 2."
2. This by-law shall not become effective until a~>~roved by
Department of iiighways and until signs have oeen erectedmd are
on dis~lay in compliance ~,:ith thc regulations of tnesaid
Department.
TIiAT ~y-La~ Nm~ber 2428 is hereby amended to the extent necessary
to~ give effect to the said by-law.
