BY-LAW OF THE CORPORATION OF TNE TOWNSHIP OF PICKERING TO AMALGAMATE
[HE PRESENT SIX FIRE AREAS IN THE TOWNSHIP OF PICKERING.
~HEREAS By-Law 1823 set out Fire Area No. 1 and was amended by By-Law
~098 and By-Law 2267;
~y-Law 2267 set out Fire Area 2 and By-Law 2477 set out Fire Areas
5 and 6;
%ND WHEREAS the 1964 mill rates and 1963 assessments were:
Area 1 $ 18,724,936.Q00 - 2.4 mills
Are~ 2 665,824.00 - 5.5 mills
Area 3 1,504,132.00 - 1.4 mills
Area 4 3,478,778.00 - 2. mills
Area 5 1,493,086.00 - 3. mills
Area 6 223,067.00 - 1.7 mills
~nd the estimated consolidated rate requimed for 1964 would have been
~.6 mills;
~ND WHEREAS the various rates cause considerable difficulties for
~axing;
IT THEREFORE ENACTED by the ~unicipal Council of the ~wnship of
ckering
That as of January 1, 1965, all six fire areas in the Township
of Picketing be consolidated into one fire area.
That all By-Laws contrary to or inconsistent with this By-Law
are hereby repealed.
