A BY-LAW OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF PICKERING DESIGNATING
THROUGH HIGHWAYS IN THE TOWNSHIP OF PICKERING~ AND TO AMEND BY-LAW 2~28.
WHEREAS Clause 26 of subsection 1 of section 1 of The Highway Traffic
Act--'~.SoO. 1960, Chapter 172) provides that:
"through highway" means any highway or part of a highway
designated as such by the Minister or by by-law of a
municipality approved by the Department, and every such
highway shall be marked by a stop sign or yield right-of-way
sign in compliance with the regulations of the Department;
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality
of the Township of Picketing ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. The following highways or parts of highways under the
jurisdiction of the Municipality of the Township of
Picketing are designated as through highways:

Spruce Hill Road 50' south of Concession intersection of Spruce Hill
2 Road Road and Spruce Hill By-
pass Road
Spruce Hill Bypass intersection of Spruce 50' west of Fairport Road
Road Hill Road and Spruce
Hill Bypass Road
2. The designation in section 1 of this by-law of a highway
or part of a highway as through highway shall not include
any intersection thereon where the road intersected is a
King's Highway or where traffic control signals are
installed.
3. That By-Law 2~28, clause 1, section 28, be amended
fromSpruce Hill Road - from 50 -feet north of Concession 1
to 50 feet south of Concession 2
to Spruce Hill Road from 50 feet south of Concession 2 to
Spruce Hill Bypass Road thence easterly on Spruce Hill
Bypass Road to 50 feet west of Fairport Road.
This by-law shall not become effective until approved by
the Department of Transport and until signs are on
display in compliance with the regulations of the Department.
