AUTHORIZING SPEED LIMITS
WHEREAS subsection 6a of section 59 of the Highway Traffic Act
~-~.S.O. ].960, Chapter 172) authorizes the council of a townshlo
or county by by-law to prescribe a lower or higher rate of speed
for motor vehicles on a highway or portion of hi~£hway under its
jurisdiction that is not within a built-up area, urban area or
suburban district than is prescribed in clause (a) of subsection
] of section 59, but such rate of speed shall not be less than
35 miles per hour or more than 60 miles per hour;
AND ~fHEREAS it is deemed expedient that the speed limit for
motor vehicles upon certain hif, hways in th.e Municipality of the
Township of ?ickerin~ be either decreased or increased or both;
NOW T}{EREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality
of the Township of Picketing ENACTS AS FOLbOWS:
1. No person shall drive a motor vehicle up, on the portion
of highway designated in Schedule "A" appended hereto,
at greater rate of speed than the rate of speed prescribed
in the scbedule.
2. This by-law shall not become effective until approved
by the Department of Transport.
3. That By-Law No. 2881 be and the same is hereby repealled.
