DESIGNATE A PERSON WHO MAY AUTHORIZE THE CHILDREN'S AID SOCIETY
TO FURNISH TFaMPORARY CARE AND SHELTER TO ANY CHILD.
WHEREAS Section 27 (1) of the Child Welfare Act provides
"The Council of a Municipality may by by-law
designate one or more members of the Council
or any employee of the municipality to authorize
a children's aid society to furnish temporary
care and shelter to a child where the person
in charge of the child consents thereto, and
where the society furnishes temporary care and
shelter to the child it may charge the municipality
the rate in respect to the child."
THEREFORE THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE TOWNSHIP 0F PICKERING
ENACTS that
~ ~ .~ be and he is hereby appointed the
person who may, on'behalU of the Township of PlckerLng, authormze
the Children's Aid Society to furnish temporary care and shelter
to a child where the person in charge of the child consents thereto,
and where the Society furnishes temporary care and shelter to the
child, it may charge the Municipality the rate in respect of the
child.
