A BY-LAW OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF PICKERING TO ESTABLISH
A COMMUNITY CENTRE AT CLAREMONT,
WHEREAS provision is made for the establishment of a Community Centre
%n on--~rio under the Community Centres Act~ 1949;
AND WHEREAS the Board of the Claremont Community Memorial Athletic Field
and Park and Claremont Community Hall have operated for many years without
the aid of any Provincial grants and if organized under the Community
Centres Act they would be eligible for a Provincial grant;
AND WHEREAS the Claremont Community Hall and the four (4) acres of park
lands are registered in the name of the Township of Picketing;
BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED by the Municipal Corporation of the Township of
Pickering THAT
1. The Claremont Community Memorial Athletic Field and Psrk and the
Claremont Community Hall be re-organized so as to conform to and
operate under the Community Centres Act, 1949~ and amendments thereto~
and that the Board shall comprise the following named persons:

to hold office as such durinK the year 1962 and until auccessors
shall be appointed.
2. That IIarvey Spang and Milton Mowbray, members of this Council, be
also appointed members of the said Board for the year 1962 and until
successors shall be appointed.
3. That ~y-Law Number 267~ be and the same is hereby repealed.
