HomeMy WebLinkAboutBy-law 269 B Y - L A W N U,,M B.E R ~ 6 9 BY-LAw FOR THE cLOSING UP AND SALE OF A CERTAIN ROAD ALLOWANCE THEREIN SENT IONED. ~{EREAS the original allowance for road between Lots Sixteen and Seventeen in the Seventh Concession of Picketing has never been used as a road and is not required for public travel it is desirable that the same shall be closed up and sold. TIIEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Picketing ENACTS: 1st. THAT the original allowance for road between Lots 16 & 17 in the 7%h Concession of the Township of Picketing be and the same is hereby closed up as a public road or highway. 2nd. THAT it shall be the duty of the Reeve and he is hereby authorized and required inu~ediately after this By-law shall have come into force to tender the said portion of road allowance hereby mentioned to the parties whose lands adjoin at the following prices, viz: That portion of the said road allowance adjoining the lands of John Miller at Forty Dollars per acre and that portion of the said road allowance adjoining the lands of Isaac Middleton, Charles Pilkey and James Dolphin at Thirty Five Dollars per acre. 3rd. THAT in case of the refusal of the parties whese lands adjoin the said allowance for road to accept the said allowance for those sums per acre respectively, then the Reeve shall sell the same to any other party or parties who may be willimg to give therefor the same or any greater sum. 4th. THAT the Reeve is hereby authorized and required to convey and assure by deed or deeds the said allowance for road to the party or parties who may have become the purchaser or purchasers thereof and affix the Seal of the Corporation thereto. 5th. THAT this By-law shall come into force and have effect immediately after it shall have been confirmed by the Council of the Co~mty of Ontario. PASSED 7th September 1867. "Hector Beaten" "Jas.
