A BY-LAW OF THE CORPORAfl0N OF THE TOWNSHIP 0F PICKERING
T0 CREA'fE A PARKS AND RECREATION COMMITTEE.
WHEREAS Section 377, subsection 63(c) o£ the Municipal
Act, provides for the appointment of a Parks Committee
to operate municipal parks;
ANJ) WHEREAS the Township by By-law No. 2.6,55 has
appointed certain members to a Township Recreation
Committee;
AND WHEREAS Council deems it advisable to continue a
Parka and Recreation Committee as one body;
BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED by the Municipal Corporation
of the Township of Pickering that:
1. A Parks and Recreation Committee e~ be
Formed comprising seven members, two o£ whom
shall be Council members.
2. Each Park Board shall submit its annual budget
to the Parks and Recreation Committee.
3. The Parks and Recreation Committee shall take the
Parks Boards Budgets, as approved by it, into
account in preparing its own budget for submission
%o Council.
4. Within the limits o£ the Parks and Recreation
Committee budget, as approved by Council, the
Township will match the expenditures of Parks
Boards From their own Funds For parks purposes. .~ ~9c
5. By-Law No. 2655 be and the same is hereby repealed. ~;.~,~'
