A BY-LAW OF THE CORPOP~TION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF PICK~RING TO A~END
BY-LAW ~ER 1659 ~CH PROVIDES FOR T~ LICENSING A~ ~G~ATION
OF ~LIC HALLS IN T}~ SAID T~NSHIP.
BE IT ENACTED by the Municipal Co~lCi] of tile Township of Pickeril~
that:
]. Clause l(a) reading, "~blic Hall" shall mean any place of public
assembly where members of the public gather together for the pur-
pose of any meeting or entertainment, where an a~ission fee is
charged or where after admission a charge is made or a fee
collected, or where the public hall is rented or leased by any
person or organization for any such function, and shall include
cloak Fooms~ wash rooms~ kitchens and other service rooms used
in com~eetion therewith but shall not include a theatre, a
~ school ~hen used for education purposes only, a ledge when used
for lodge pu~oses o~y a Church or any building when used by a
religious organization for religious pu~oses o~y"
~e ~ended to
"~b]~c Hall" means a building, including a potable building or
tent with a seating capacity for over 100 persons, that is offered
for use or used as a place of public assembly~ but does not include
a theatre within the meaning of The Theatres Act or a building,
except a tent used solely for religious pu~oses."
~. Clause 4. "Evel$~ application for a ~t)]ic ~all Licence shall be
aceompan~ ad by:
(b) ~a certi~iCate signed by the ChJe~ of Police certifying that
the operation of a IIall in the location applied for is
approved by him and that he is satisfieO with the proposed
use of the lmildings or part thereof as a public hall and
with tile proposed methods of operation: and
be amended to read:
(b) "a Certificate signed by the By-Law Enforcement Officer
certifying that the operation of a Hall in the location
applied for is approved by him and that he is satisfied with
the proposed use of the buildings or pa~ thereof as a public
hall and with the proposed methods of operation."
