TI~ ASSESSING OF ~EP}IO~ A~ T~EG~PH COMPANIES.
~qI~kS SeCtion 12 of the Assessment Act provides that Council may
define Police Village areas ~n To%.nshJps where there is a densJ[y
of pop,darien of not less than 150 persons per ~00 acres of land;
Ahq) WHEREAS the Assessment Act provides that 45 pnr' cent of the
gross receipts of telephone and telegraph Companies ~n Police
Village areas so declared are liable for assessme~]t and taxation;
A~ ~S a Police Village area was set up under By-La%, No,
on September 29, 1958~ which s~t boundaries according to Wards and
such l~'a~s have no%' been changed and approved by the Ontario
eipa] Board;
A~ ~AS the Township have issued 400 B~lding pemtts for
housing t~ aD area adjoining sneh Police Village area;
h~ ~AS the proposed new Police ~il] age Area will
approximately 9390 acres with an approximate pnp~ation of
9 ·

BE IT TI~F0~ ENACT~ BY the Municipal Council of the Township
%f Picketing:
1. THAT a Pol]ce Village area be created in the To%mship of
Picketing comprdslng the folloa~ng lets:
All of Lots 21 to 35 1nelusive in Broken Front, Ranges
1, 2 and 3, anti Concessions 1 and 2, aha tha~ portion of
Lots 19 and 20 which ]]e between the Provincial Highway
Number 2 and the Second Concession line.
2. TIIAT this By-Law shall bccomo erfecti~on the date on wh~ ch
it is approved by the Department of Municipal Affairs.
3. THAT By-Law Ntmber 23,13 be and the sine is hereby repealed.
