BY-LAW NO.
A by-law to authorize an application to the
Ontario Municipal Board for an order enlargin~
the defined garbage area in the south part of
the Township of Pickering.
WHEREAS by By-law No. 21l~1 of the Corporation of
the Township of Pickering pa~sed on the 2?th day of February
1956~ a defined area was created in the south part of the
Township of Pickering for the collection, removal and
disposal of garbage~ ashes and other refuse to be carried
out by the said Township, the expenses of such collection,
removal and disposal to be defrayed by imposing a special
rate upon all land within the said garbage area;
AND ~HEi~EAS considerable development has taken
place around the said garbage area and ovmers of certain
lands abutting on the said garbage area have requested
that their land be included in the said garbage area;
ANE ~HEREAS by virtue of Section 15 of the
Mu~icipal Act R.SoO. 1960~ C. 2~9 the said Township may
apply to the Ontario ~,~nicipal Board for an order
enlarging any area in the Township created for any municipal
purpose;
NCW THEREFORE BE IT EI~ACTED by the ~nicipal
Coumcil of the Corporation of the Township of Pickering
as follows:
1. That the Corporation of the Tow.~ship of Pickering
be and the s~ne is hereby authorized to make application
to the Ontario Municipal Board for an order enlarging the
garbage area defined in the said By-law No, 2121 by adding
thereto the lands described in Schedule "A" annexed to
this by-law and made part hereof and for an order that
the said lends to be included in such enlarged area shall
be subject to the provisions of By-law No. 21~1 an6 shall
share the costs of collection, removal and disposal of
garbage, ashes an~ other refuse, such costs to be
defrayed by a special mill rate imposed oH the lauds
in the defined area as enlarged.
2. That By-law No. 2558 be and the same is hereby
repealed.
