W]{EREAS Section 2 of the Beach Protection Act, it.S.O. 1950,
provides thai; the ~!inJ step may !sane permits" for the taking of
sand from the bed, bank, beach, shore, or waters of any lake,
river or stream, or from any bar or Flat in any lake, river or
stream or adjoining any channel or entrance to any lake, river
o~ stream in accordance with the regulations, and may suspend or
cancel any license; ~
A~ ~IE}~AS Chapter 7, bein~ the 1959 amendment to the
Protection Act, provides that this Act does not apply to a
Mln¥icipa]ity using such sand f'or its own use or by a bona Fide
resident of Ontario for his personal use and not ~or resale
For use For commercial purposes, if the removal is wlth the
written consent of an official designated by the Council of the
local municipality Jn which the sand is situat~

oF Picketing:
q]iAT !larry Ashton be and he is hereby appointed by Council to be
the official who may issue permits For the removal of sand from
beaches, streams, etc., in the Towaship of Picketing iu accordance
w~th the I~ach Protection Act and amendments thereto.
