HomeMy WebLinkAboutBy-law 2521 B Y - L A ~ N U M B ~ R ~...~Z/ A BY-LAW OF THE TOWNSHIP OF PICKEHING ~EGAIiDING FENCES AtiOUND P~IVATE OUTDO0~ SWIMMING POOLS. WHEhEAS it is deemed advisable for purposes of safety to regulate the construction of fences around private outdoor swimming pools; NOW THEMEFOttE BE IT ENACTED and It is Hereby Enacted: 1. In this By-Iaw a privately owned outdoors swimming pool means any body of water permanently located outdoors on ~ privately o~ned property, contained by artificial ~eans and used or maintained for the purposes of swimming, ~ading, diving or bathing. 2. No privately owned outdoor swimming pool shall be constructed or maintained unless there is erected and maintained around such pool a fence at a location and of a design approved by the B,,/~,~ ~#/m~ff ~/~ of the Township of Picketing. ' Such fedce shall be of of at least four feet (4~ ) a height and of a chain link or other design such as will reasonably deter any children from climbing over it to gain entry into the fenced in area. 3. Any gate in such fence shall be of a similar or other adequate 'design to the fence and shall be equipped with a lock and shall be locked at all times except when the fenced in area is actually being used by the owner of the property on which it is located or the owner'm duly authorized agents if they are adults. 4. This By-Law shall come into force on October 31, 1960. 5. Any person convicted of a breach of any provisions of this By-Law shall forfeit and pay at the discretion of the Convicting )~... Magistrate a penalty not exceeding, exclusive of costs, the sum of Three Hundred Dollars (~300.00) for each offence.
