B Y- LAW NUMBER 3 j
A BY-LAW TO ESTABLISH A CIVIL DEFENCE COMMITTEE.
WHEREAS Section 387 of the Municipal Act R.S.O. 1950, provides that
By-laws may be passed for aiding the establishment or maintenance of
local Civil Defence Committees and for providing money for air-raid
precaution or other similar work within a Municipality;
AND WHEREAS it is deemed expedient to appoint a Civil Defence Committee
for the Township of Pickering;
THEREFORE the Municipal Council of the Corporation of the Township of
Pickering ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the persons hereinafter listed be and they are hereby appointed
a Civil Defence Committee for the Township of Pickering
Chairman
Vice Chairman

Member
2. That John Daniel-Jenkins be and he is hereby appointed Co-Ordinator
of the Civil Defence Committee of the Township of Pickering.
3. That the said Civil Defence Committee be and it is hereby authorized
to appoint such persons as it may deem advisable to provide key
personnel for the respective services.
4. That the Council shall provide in its yearly estimates such sums as
may be required for the administration expenses of the Civil Defence
Committee.
5. That By-Laws 2218 and 2331 be and the same are hereby repealed.
