OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF PICKERING
WHEREAS by an Agreement dated the 4th day of August,1925 the
Corporation entered into a Rural Power Contract with The ttydro-Electric
Power Commission of Ontario for the rural distribution of electrical
power within the Township;
AND WHEREAS by an Agreement dated the 28th day of August,19~lthe
Corporation entered into a Street Lighting Agreement witl~ the said Com-
mission for street lighting on highways tn a certain area in the Town-
ship as therein described and which is known as ?~itevhle;
AND WHEREAS a majority of the resident freeholders according to the
last revised assessment roll residing within another and additional area
described in a Petition, and also described hereinafter, did Petition
the Council of the Corporation to procure from the said Commission the
lighting of highways in such areal and the said Petition was accompanied
by the certificate of the Clerk of the Township stating that it was
signed by a majority of the said resident freeholders;
AND WHEREAS pursuant to such Petition the Council of the Corpora-
tion did request the said Commission ta light highways in the said
additional area and the said Commission did furnish estimates;
AND WHEREAS notice was duly given to ea~ch of the petitioners sign-
lng the said Petition that the Council of the Corporation would at a
special meeting called for that purpose consider the said estimates;
AND WKEREAS the Council of the Corporation at such meeting held
within one month after the delivery of the said estimates, namely on
the ;/ day of ~ 19 , considered the said estimates, and
heard the petitioners;
AND WHEREAS at the close of the said meeting there were remaining.
on the Petition a sufficient number of names to constitute a majority
of the resident freeholders within the said additional area;
AND WKEREAS the Corporation desires that the said Commission light
highways in the said additional area and that the said Street Lighting
Agreement shall apply to the said additional area;
NOW THEREFORE the Municipal Council of the Corporation of
Township of Pickering enacts as follows:
(1) That the Corporation do make applicable the said Street
Lighting Agreement to the said additional area, which may be more
particularly described as all lots in registered plan 678 and
registered plan M-5 known as Rouge Mighlands Subdivision in Part
of Lot 35, Range II and including a rectangular parcel at the north-
west corner of East Avenue and Fanfare Avenue running 125' 0"
N16° 51' 30" W and 135' 0" N73° 08' 30" E from said corner; also
including a rectangular parcel at the south-west corner of East Avenue
and Fanfare Avenue running 75' 0" N16° 51' 30" W and 135' N73° 08' 30" E
from said corner; also including a rectangular parcel at the south-west
corner of Kirkdene Drive and East Avenue running 250' 0" N16° 51' 30" W
and $50' 0" N73° 08' 30" E from said corner and all as shown on the
drawing, article "A", attached. ~-~' /' z. · --~- ·
all in the said Township, as shown outlined in red on the sketch marked
Exhibit "A" hereto attached and forming part of this By-law, and which
is known as
(2) That the said additional area be lighted by that numbe~
following list, namely:-

as shown on the.said Exhibit "A" and in addition by such further street
lights on the said highways and on other highways in the. said additional
area as 'shall be requested'by the Council by notice in writing to the
Commission from time to time;
(3) THAT all lighting of highways In the said additional area and
all street lighting works 'therein be unde~ and be governed by ~he said
'Street Lighting Agreement as if the said additional area had been orlgi-
potation pay the Commission for the Lighting of highways tn the said
additional a~ea in accordance with the terms of the said Street Lightlng
Agreement;
(4) THAT ~0 Percent of the cost incurred under the said Agree-
ment ro~ Street Llghting in tho said additional area herein described
/be raised, levied and collected by an annual speciaI rate Upon the
taxable proper~y lying within th'e said additional area;
(5) THAT ~'~ Percent of the cost incurred under the Said Agree-
ment for Street Lighting in the said additional area herein described
be paid by the Corporation at large and be chargeable to the Munici-
pality as a whole:
