A BY-LAW OF THE TOWNSHIP OF PICKFRING TO AUTHORIZE THE SIGNING OF AN
AGREEMENT TO CONSTITUTE A HEALTH UNIT COMPRISING The Corporation of the
Town of Uxbridge, The Corporation of the Town of Ajax, The Corporation of
the Village of Pickering, the Corporation of the Township of East Whitby,
and the Corporation of the Township of Pickering. =
WHEREAS Committees of the interested Municipalities have met and agreed
to the standard Department of Health Agreement set out in Schedule "A"
and being a part of this By-Law;

participants therein shall be Uxbridge, 3iiax, the Villul-> of
Pickering, East Vlhitby, and the Township of Pickering;, Much
Municipal Corporations are parties hereto.
2. The Health Uni, shall be named and deserioed as the "Ontario
County Health Unit" and it shall b hereinafter referred to as "The
said Health Unit"
30 The said Health Unit shell be under the management of n Lkcard of

said Health unit.
It i3 agruod by the barites hereto that the expenses of the said Lenith
Unit shall not include expenses Incurred in the he.spit"i care and treat-

60 of the Public Health Act. ¢

10. The Public Health assets for each of the Mies hereto shall be avail-
able for purchase by the said health Unit. The purchase price shall
be payable on January lsu, 1953, and the purchase price of the assets
purbhased shall be set by the said board.
11. In the event of the di.ssoluti_on of the Hoard, the assets thereof shall
be cunvertrd into cosh and distributed amonE, the parties hereto in the
ratio of the contribution iaade by e:ch to the e;penses of the Health
unit.
12. This Agreement shall take effect from the lst day of July 1957, or on
the date this agreement is approved by the P„inister of Health for the
Pruvince of Ont-?rio, whichever date shall last occur.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF the Parties hereto have hereunto affixed their respective
Corporate Seals, attested by the hands of their duly authorized o ficials.
