A BY-LAW TO ASSESS THE MUNICIPALITY OF THE TOWNSHIP OF PICKERING FOR THE
IMPROVEMENT AND REPAIR OF ROADS AND BRIDGES, PArMENT OF SALARIES, THE
GF,NERAL EXPENSES OF TTTE CORPORATION, TO DEFRAY THE COST OF WELFARE, FOR
THIS MUNICIPALITYIS SHARE: OF THE COST OF ROADS AND rENERAL PURPOSES OF
THE COUNTY OF ONTARIO, TO PAY TPE TOWNSITIPtS SITARS OF THE COST OF OPERAT_
IONS OF TOTE PICKERING DISTRICT HIGH SCHOOL BOARD FOR TTTE. YEAR 1957.

WITERFAS it, will require the sumt of `j 147,723.00 from the Municipality of
the Township of Pickering for the improvement dill, repair of roads and
bridges, the payment. of salaries and the general expenses of the municipallity,
in the year 1957;
AND WTTEREIAS it will require the sum of 425.00 to defray the general
expenses of the Police Village of Claremont and to cover the share of the
Police Village in sundry services and expenses of the Nfnnicipality during
tre said year;
AND WffPMRAS it will require the slim of j15,700.00 to defray the cost of
tl'e Municipality for Welfare to the unemployed and poor and hospitalization of same, in the sai•a year;
ANTI 10TFR143AS the County Council. of the County of Ontario will require the
levy and collection from and upon all the rateable property in the
)Tunici.pality of #.lhe. Township of Pickerin-, in the year 1957" of an amount,
for the purposes of the said County, of 116,9763.27; iss
AND WHIMENS the total amount of taxable property in the said Municipality,
inclurd.inn all portions thereof, in the said year 1957, is the sum of
'k 12,389, 11.1.24; is
AND WTTEREAS the total amount of taxable property in the said Police Village
of Claremont in the said year is 380,132.78;
AND WTTE.RFAS the Township of Pickering High School Board has requisitioned ?
t 77558.52 for High School purposes in the year 1957, and such requisitioT:
shall be levied over the whole of th.e said Township;
AND MIEREAS the Provincial per capita grant of 16,112.7 is designated to
be credited to Residential and Farm assessn;erts only;
AND IMETTEIAS the Farm An-l Residential assessments amowrd to -w 11,3600065.00
and that of Commercial and Manufacturing to i 1,0280976.21;

Pickering:
1. That there be raised, levied and collected froT:_ and upon all the rateable
property in the "funicipality of the Township of Pickering the rate or sum

(a) 7.8c) mills on the dollar on 1,028,976.21 Miich will ar.;ount, to
the sum, of `'j 8,087.751,E

(c) 7.8, Trills or tl-ie dollar oil ':' 12,389,111.21 which will amour., to

for the improvement and repair of roads and bridges, the payment of
salaries and the general expenses of the >fitnicipality in the year 19.7,
as stated in the preamble of this By-Law.
That there be raised, levied. and collected from and upon all the rateable
property in the Police Village of Claremont ill the year 1957 the rate or
sum: of
(a) T4196 mills on the dollar on "` 61,26?.7S which will a.mouut to the
sum of " 504.62
(b) r.Alls on the dollar on 316)230.00 which will amount to the
swn of •j 1, 201.67
(c) 7.8 mills or the dollar on " 380,-132.78 which will amount to the
sum.: of (; 2,907.37
for the purposes of th.e said Village and Township as stated in the said
preamble.
3. That there be raised, levied and. collected from and upon all the
rateable property in the said Municipality of the Township of -
Pickering, in the year 1957, the rate or sure of 1.27 Mills on the
1 Dollar, which will amount to the sum of 15,734.0£ to defray the
cost of giving Welfare to the unemployed and poor, and hospital-
ization of same in the said Municipality, during the year 1957,
as stated in the said preamble.
1. That there be raised, levied and collected from and upon all the
rateable property in the said Municipality of the Township of
Pickering, in the year 1957; the rate or sure of-9.43 Mills on the
Dollar, which will amount to the sum; of $ 116,954.06 for the
general purposes of the Corporation of the County of Ontario, in-
cluding maintenance and improvement of County and Suburban Roads,
in the said year, as stated in the said preamble.
5. That there be raised, levied and collected. from and upon all the
rateable property in the said Municipality of the Township of
Pickering, in the year 1957; the rate or sum of 6-84 Mills on the (n3
Dollar, which will amount to; the sum of 1 74,£29.£0 for the use
of the Township of Pickering Nigh School Board for the year 1957.
