HomeMy WebLinkAboutBy-law 2160BY - LAW N UMBER -2 / G6 A BY-LAW OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF THE TOWNSHIP OF PICKERING TO DIVIDE THE TOWNSHIP INTO WARDS AND PROVIDE FOR A SEVEN MAN COUNCIL. WHEREAS on December 6, 1954, the ratepayers of Pickering Township voted on By-Law Number 2044 on the question: "Are you in favour of the division of the Township into Wards?", which resulted: Yes: 1,754. No: 777; BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED by the Municipal Council of the Township of Pickering that: 1. The Township of Pickering be divided into five Wards. 2. The various Wards shall comprise the following lots: (a) WARD 1 shall comprise all of Lots 15 to 35 inclusive in Concessions 8 and 9, and all of Lots 21 to 35 inclusive in Concessions 3 to 7 inclusive. (b) WARD 2 shall comprise all of Lots 1 to 14 inclusive in Concessions 8 and 9, and all of Lots 1 to 20 inclusive in Concessions 3 to 7 inclusive. (c) WARD 3 shall comprise all of Lots 1 to 21 inclusive in Concessions B.F. R.21 B.F. R.3, 1 and 2, save and except the areas which comprise the Town of Ajax and the Village of Piclcerino. (d) WARD 4 shall comprise all of Lots 22 to 29 inclusive in Concessions B.F. R.2, B.F. R.31 1 and 2. (e) WARD 5 shall comprise all the Lots 30 to 35 inclusive in Concessions B.F. R.11 B.F. R.2, B.F. R.31 1 and 2. 3. The Council shall comprise a Reeve, Deputy-Reeve and five Councillors. One Councillor shall be elected from each Ward, with the Reeve and Deputy-Reeve elected from the whole Township. 4. This By-Law shall become effective on a date approved by the Ontario Municipal Board. 5. By-Law Number 2152 be and the same is hereby repealed.
