HomeMy WebLinkAboutBy-law 2158B Y- L A W N U M B E R 2 1 5 A BY-LAW TO ASSESS THE MUNICIPALITY OF THE TOWNSHIP OF PICKERING FOR THE IMPROVEMENT AND REPAIR OF ROADS AND BRIDGES, PAYMENT OF SALARIES, THE GENERAL EXPENSES OF THE CORPORATION, TO DEFRAY THE COST OF WELFARE, FOR THIS MUNICIPALITY'S SHARE OF THE COST OF ROADS AND GENERAL PURPOSES OF THE COUNTY OF ONTARIO AND TO PAY THE TOWNSHIPtS SHARE OF THE COST OF OPERATIONS OF THE PICKERING DISTRICT HIGH SCHOOL BOARD FOR THE YEAR 1956. WHEREAS it will require the sum of '611r27S.z&'from the Municipality of Tie ownship of Pickering for the improvement and repair of roads and bridges, the payment of salaries and the general expenses of the Munici- pality, in the year 1956; AND WHEREAS it will require the sum of $ 3 77'43 * to defray the general expenses of the Police Village of Claremont and to cover the share of the Police Village in sundry services and expenses of the Municipality during the said year; AND WHEREAS it will require the sum of to defray the cost of fhe Muni-clpality for Welfare to the unemployed and poor and hospitaliza- tion of same, in the said year. AND WHEREAS the County Council of the County of Ontario will require the evyanand collection from and upon all the rateable property in the Municipality of the Township of Pickerin , in the year 1956 of an amount, for the purposes of the said County, of //e, 35,2 ,ss AND WHEREAS the total amount of taxable property in the said Municipality, nc u n6 all portions thereof, in the said year 1956, is the sum of $10,833,116.15; /7 AND WHEREAS the total amount of taxable property in the said Police =`gge 67_Claremont in the said year is $360,976.10; AND WHEREAS the Township of Pickering High School Board has requisitioned 3S- T .a?+.-1_,ffor High School purposes in the year 1956, and such requisi- tion shall be levied over the whole of the said Township; BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED by the Municipal Corporation of the Township of ?icTter?ng: - -- 1. That there be raised, levied and collected from and upon all the rateable property in the Municipality of the Township of Pickering, the rate or sum of 11.oi Mills on the Dollar, which will amount to the sum of a //S. a9Y,z6for the improvement and repair of roads and bridges, the payment of salaries, and the general expenses of the Municipality in the year 1956, as stated in the preamble of this By-law. 2. That there be raised, levied and collected from and upon all the rateable property in the Police Village of Claremont in the year 1 l? 1956, the rate or sum of //.oi Mills on the Dollar, which will f amount to the sum of ;$ 3974,,3vLfor the purposes of the said Village and Township, as stated in the said preamble. 3. That there be raised, levied and collected from and upon all the rateable property in the said Municipality of the Township of Pickering, in the year 1956, the rate or sum of I.6-4 Mills on the Dollar, which will amount to the sum of `/7. 7 TZ,%,to defray the cost of giving Welfare to the unemployed auu poor; and hospitaliza- tion of same in the said Municipality, during the year 1956, as stated in the said preamble. 4. That there be raised, levied and collected from and upon all the rateable property in the said Municipality of the Township of Pickering, in the year 1956, the rate or sum of lo.
