HomeMy WebLinkAboutBy-law 2151B Y- L A W N U M B E R 2 1 5 1 A BY-LAW OF THE TOWNSHIP OF PICKERING TO PROVIDE FOR THE INCLUSION OF POULTRY UNDER THE LIVESTOCK PROTECTION ACT. WHEREAS Section 11 of Chapter 107, R.S.O. 19500 reads as follows: "The Council of any Municipality may pass a By-Law providing that where poultry owned by any person is damaged or injured by any dog within such Municipality to the amount of fifty pounds or more, the provisions of the Act respecting livestock shall apply to such poultry"; BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED by the Municipal Council of the Township of Pickering that: (1) Pny person in the Township of Pickering whose poultry has been killed or injured by a dog or dogs, but not by a dog or dogs belonging to him, may make claim for compensation against the Township of Pickering through the Livestock Valbator if the killed or damaged poultry amounts to 50 1 pounds or more, as is permitted under Section 11 of Chapter 107, R.S.O. 1950 (2) This By-Law shall become effective on the date it is finally Passed.
