A BY-LAW OF THE MUNICIPAL CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF PICKERING TO
RESTRICT THE SPEED OF VEHICLES IN PLAN 509.
WHEREAS Plan 509 in the north half of Concession 1, Lot 21, is 87%
,4, built up, and may be designated as a built-up area under the provisions
of the Highway Traffic Act;
BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED by the Municipal Council of the Township of
Pickering:
y? 1. That Plan 509 be declared a built-up area under the provisions
of the Highway Traffic Act, and that the maximum speed of a
motor vehicle driven on Glengrove Road and Glenview Road shall
be 30 miles per hour.
2. That this By-Law will be effective when the proper signs are
erected.
3. That any person who violates the provisions of this By-Law shall
be guilty of an offence and shall be liable for the first offence
to a penalty of not less than Five Dollars ($5.00) and not more
than Fifty Dollars ($50.00; for a second offence to a penalty of
not less than Ten Dollars ($10.00) and not more than One Hundred
Dollars ($100.00) and in addition his license may be suspended for
a period of not more than three months; and for any subsequent offen<
shall be liable to a penalty of not less than Twemty Dollars ($20.00,
and not more than Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00) and in addition his
license or permit may be suspended for a period of not more than
six months.
