A BY-LAW OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF THE TOWNSHIP OF PICKERING TO ASSESS
POLICE AREA NO. 1 FOR RATES FOR THE YEAR 1955.
WHEREAS the assessment of Police Area No. 1 is $ 5,789,834.59 for
the year 1955, and the Police Commission have approved a budget of
$ 47,347.90;
AND WHEREAS Police Area No. 1 requires the sum of $ 5,789.83, or
One Tl Mill to defray the cost of the new Police Building for 1955;
AND WHEREAS the estimated fines for 1955 are $ 6,000.00;
AND WHEREAS Police Area No. 2 is policed by the Ontario Provincial
Police with a Township By-Law Enforcement Officer over the whole
of the Township so no rate is required;
BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED by the Municipal Council of the Township of
Pickering that:
There be levied, raised and collected from and upon all the rateable
property in Police Area No. 1 the rate of 8.2 Mills, which will amount
to the sum of $ 47,476.64, in the year 1955.
