A BY-LAW TO LEVY A SPECIAL RATE ON THE TAXABLE PROPERTY IN THE POLICE
VILLAGE OF CLAREMONT, TO DEFRAY THE COST OF STREET LIGHTS AND OTHER
SPECIAL PURPOSES IN THE SAID VILLAGE, IN THE YEAR 1955.
WHEREAS the Trustees of the Police Village of Claremont have requested
for the levy of a special rate of 2.4 Mills on the Dollar upon all the
rateable property in the said Village to defray the cost of maintaining
r _
Street Lights, and meet the costs of other sundry Village requirements,
during the year 1.955;
AND WHEREAS the total taxable property in the said Police Village is
the sum of 3 344,911.44;
BE IT_.THEREFORE _ENACTED by the Municipal Council. of the Township of
Pickering:
THAT there be raised, levied and collected from and upon all the
rateable property in the Police Village of Claremont, in the year
1955, the rate or sum of 2.4 Mills on the Dollar, amounting to the
sum of $ 827,78 for the aforesaid purposes of the said Police Village
of Claremont, in the said year.
