A BY-LAW TO ASSESS THE MUNICIPALITY OF THE TOWNSHIP OF PICKERING,
INCLUDING THE POLICE VILLAGE OF CLAREMONT, FOR A GENERAL PUBLIC SCHOOL
RATE TO PROVIDE FUNDS FOR THE TOWNSHIP STATUTORY GRANTS TO PUBLIC
SCHOOLS IN THE YEAR 1954.
WHEREAS the amount to be raised by general le`i*y from the whole of the
Public School Supporters in the said Township'in the present year, for
payment of the Statutory Township Grants to Public Schools, required by
Section 115 of the Public Schools Act, R.S.O. 1950, is the sum of
$25,839.20 ; as per Schedule.
AND WHEREAS the Assessment of Public School supporters in the Municipal-
ity in the year 1954 is 8,517,727.77 ;
BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED by the Municipal Council of the Township of
Pickering: S
THAT there be raised,, levied and collected from and upon all the
rateable property in the said Municipality, including the Police
Village of Claremont, assessed for Public School purposes in the year
954, the rate of 3.1 'Mills on the dollar, which will amount to
26,404.95 for the purpose of paying Statutory Grants to the
Public Schools in the said Municipality in the said year.
