HomeMy WebLinkAboutBy-law 1861B Y- L A W N U M B E R 1 8 6 1. Of the Municipality of the TOWNSHIP OF PICRERING, to levy a rate to cover cost of operation of the several Fire Departments. WHEREAS under By-law No. 1823 a FIRE AREA was created comprising Lots No. 2 to 35 inclusive from Lake Ontario to half way between Concessions No-3 and No.4, known as FIRE AREA NO.1, and has an assessment of X $2,190,860.72. AND WHEREAS the remaining part of the Township secures protection from the Police Villages of Pickering and Claremont and the Brougham Fire ? Brigade, each receiving a yearly guarantee of FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS ($400.). AND WHEREAS the assessment for the Police Villages of Claremont and P cker ng, for the year 1951, is $728,431.32,' and as they own their local fire fighting equipment are exempt from further levy. AND WHEREAS the assessment of the Municipality, excluding Fire Area No.l andie two Police Villages of Claremont and Pickering, is $4,824,255.86. AND WHEREAS Fire Area No.l requires the sum of /3 0a,0 o and the rema n ng area requires the sum of $ / ,?Ox.e a or the operation of fire equipment for the year 1951. BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED by the Municipal Council of the Township of Pickering :- 1. That there be raised, levied and collected from and upon all the rateable property in Fire Area No.l, in the year 1951, the rate or sum of Mills on the Dollar amounting to $ /.f3 3.&,o fo the aforesaid purpose in the said year. 2. 1 That there be raised, the rateable property No.l and the two Poli in the year 1951, the Dollar amounting to in the said year. levied and collected from and upon all in the Municipality, excluding Fire Area ;e Villages of Pickering and Claremont, rate or sum of .3 Mills on the /di'4"7-Yes for the aforesaid purpose BY-LAW read a first and second time this day BY-LAW read a Third time and PASSED thi&_?62 _ day of? 1951 of 1951.
