HomeMy WebLinkAboutBy-law 1846B Y- L A W N 0. 1 6 4 6. Of the CORPORATION of the TOWNSHIP OF PICKERING, to constitute a Board of Commissioners of Police. WHEREAS it is provided in the Police Act R.S.O., 1950, Chapter 279, Section 7 that every township having a population in excess of five thousand according to the last revised assessment roll, may by By-law constitute a Board of Commissioners of Police. AND WHEREAS the Township of Pickering has a population in excess of five thousand according to the last revised assessment roll. AND WHEREAS it is deemed expedient that for the better administration of matters relating to the police force in the Township of Pickering to enact a By-law constituting a Board of Commissioners of Police for the Township of Pla kering. NOW THEREFORE BE IT ENACTED by the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Pickering as follows :- 1. THAT a Board of Commissioners of Police for the Township of Pickering be and the same is hereby d' constituted. 2. THAT the said Board shall assume the conduct of all matters assigned to it by The Police Act and any other statute in that behalf forthwith after the f first meeting of the Board.
