HomeMy WebLinkAboutBy-law 1831BY - LAW N UMBER 1831 of the Municipality of the Township of Pickering, to increase the Police force personnel. WHEREAS at a recent meeting, council by motion approved the hiring of two extra policemen and same should now be confirmed by By-law. BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED BY THE Municipal Council of the Township of Pickering. 10 That G, Channing and W. Higgins be added to the Township ` of Pickering Police force commencing as soon as they can be released from their present position. That the said officers shall be hired as probationary officersfor a period of six months at a salary of $1850.00 per annum each-,and shall, if satisfactory?be given an increase of $100.00 per year at he end of the &ame probationary period with a furthers oo.o?: o year. Isservice. 30 That the said officers shall provide a suitable late model car between them and they shall be paid W per mile for its operafttor while on Municipal business. Op?,R1CpaK 4- That the telephone accounts of each of said officers shall be paid by the Municipality together with insurance for the said car. 5. That the status of Constable F. W.
