HomeMy WebLinkAboutBy-law 1813B Y- L A W N U M B E R 1 8 1 3 BY-LAW to assess the Municipality of the Township of Pickering, exclusive of the Police Villages of Pickering and Claremont, for the improvement and repair of roads and bridges, payment of salaries and the general expenses of the Corporation, in the year 1950; to assess the said Police Villages of Pickering and Claremont for village and township purposes in the said year; to assess the whole of the said Municipality to defray the cost of WELFARE during the said year; to assess the whole of the said Municipality for a general school rate, to provide funds for the Township statutory grants to public schools in the said year; to assess the whole of the said Municipality, in the year 1950, for roads and general purposes of the County of Ontario; and in the same year to assess the whole of the said Municipality for maintenance d of High Schools, and to pay fees and transportation for Township pupils attending other High Schools. Y y WHEREAS it will require the sum of x¢56-fi0 from that part of the Municipality of the Township of Pickering apart from the Police Villages of Pickering and Claremont, for the improvement and repair of roads and bridges, the payment of salaries and the general expenses of the Municipality, in the year 1950. 3 yOf z f, SS AND WHEREAS it will require the sum of $'? to defray the general expenses of the Police Village of Pickering and to cover the share of the Police Village in sundry services and expenses of the Municipality during the said year. z ,o 67, o'er AND WHEREAS it will require the sum of $1-;9.0 to defray the general expenses of the Police Village of Claremont and to cover the share of the Police Village in sundry services and expenses of the Municipality during the said year. AND WHEREAS it will require the sum of $4,975.53 to defray the cost to the whole of the Municipality far Welfare to the unemployed and poor and hospitalization of same, in the said year. BY-LAW No. 1813 Page No. 2. AND WHEREAS the amount to be raised by general levy from the whole of the said Municipality in the present year for the payment of the statutory Township grants to Public Schools required by Section 112 of the Public Schools Act, R.S.0.1937, as the same has been amended by Section 34 of the Public Schools Amendment Act, 1938, is the sum of $20,050.65- 2 , 16 AND WHEREAS the County Council of the County of Ontario will require the levy and collection from and upon all the rateable property in the Municipality of the Township of Pickering, in the year 1950, of the following amounts for the purposes of the said County, that is to say : For General Purposes $26,618.39 For County Home For County Roads For Suburban Roads . . . . . . 2,158.25 . 20,755.26 . . . . 827.22 TOTAL . . . $50059912 t r_ AND WHEREAS the total amount of taxable property in the said Munici- pality, apart from the Police Villages of Pickering and Claremont, in the year 1950, is $b,726,053.55. AND WHEREAS the total amount of taxable property in the said Police 4 '. Village of Pickering, in the said year, is $436,796.07. AND WHEREAS the total amount of taxable property in the said Police Village of Claremont, in the said year, is $263,317.55. AND WHEREAS the Township of Pickering High School Board has requisitioned $29,704.67 for High School purposes in the year 1950, and such requisition shall be levied over the whole of the said Township. AND WHEREAS the total amount of taxable property in the said a; Municipality, including all portions thereof, in the said year 1950, is the sum of $7,426,167.17. BY-LAW No. 1813 Page No. 3. BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED by the Municipal Corporation of the V 31 rf Township of Pickering:- 1. That there be raised, levied and collected from and upon all the rateable property in the Municipality of the Township of Pickering, exclusive of the Police Villa es of Pickering and Claremont, the rate or sum pis of W-v55 Mills on the dollar, which will amount to the sz.79ysz sum of $50-,?741?70 for the improvement and repair of roads and bridges, the payment of salaries and the general expenses of the Municipality in the year 1950, as stated in the preamble of this By-law. 2. That there be raised, levied and collected from and upon all the taxable property in the Police Village of Pickering, in the year 1950, the rate or sum of 7gs .7_? Mills on the Dollar, which will amount to the sum of w'3 ' for the purposes of the said Village and Township, as stated in the said preamble. 9 7'-?. 3. That there be raised, levied and collected from and upon all the rateable property in the Police Village of Claremont, in the year 1950, the rate or sum of 7 8S 7w*5 Mills on the Dollar, which will amount to the z o 670,4 sum of 4IT94O594 for the purposes of the said Village and Township, as stated in the said preamble. 4. That there be raised, levied and collected from and upon all the rateable property in the said Municipality of the Township of Pickering, including the said Police Villages of Pickering and Claremont, in the year 1950, the rate or sum of .67 Mills on the Dollar, which will amount to the sum of $4,975.53 to defray the cost of giving welfare to the unemployed and poor and hospitalization of same in the said Municipality during the year 1950, as stated in the said preamble. lJ j e r fi ?h I ' BY-LAW No. 1813 Page No. 4 (.Y,?Y 5• That there be raised, levied and collected from and 3',7 6. X0.0.7• upon all the rateable property in the said Municipality, including the said Police Villages of Pickering and Claremont, in the year 1950, the rate or sum of 2.7 Mills on the Dollar, which will amount to the sum of $20,050.65 for the purposes of statutory Township grants to the Public Schools in the said Municipality, in the said year, as stated in the said preamble. That there be raised, levied and collected from and upon all the rateable property in the said Municipality of the Township of Pickering, including the said Police Villages of Pickering and Claremont, in the year 1950, the rate or sum of 6.78 Mills on the Dollar, which will So .9uy,vi amount to the sum of $50,359.1$ for the general purposes of the Corporation of the County of Ontario, including maintenance and improvement of County and Suburban roads, in the said year, as stated in the said preamble. That there be raised, levied and collected from and upon all the rateable property in the said Municipality of the Township of Pickering, including the Police Villages of Pickering and Claremont, in the year 1950, the rate or sum of 4 Mills on the Dollar, which will amount to the sum of $29,704.67 for the use of the Township of Pickering High School Board to operate Claremont and Pickering High Schools, to pay fees of Pupils attending High Schools not within the Township of Pickering and supply transportation of said pupils to same, for the year 1950• BY-LAW read a FIRST and SECOND time .??yy .1950 ]jYA-j,AW read a THIRD TIME and PASSED this 2 day of //off/ J L" z r n 1950 eve •Clerk.
