OF THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE T0~.'~SHIP OF PICKERING, to
provide for a vote being taken of the Electors of the Police
Village of Plckering on the question:
Are you in favour of the establishment of a Municipal j
Water System in the Police Village of Pickering, at an
approximate cost of $93,000.00 (Ninety Three Thousand Dollars)?
WHEREAS it is considered desirable end expedient to obtain the
opinion of the Electors of the Police Village of Plckerlng entitled
to vote on money by-laws on the following question :
Are you in favour of the establishment of

and to pass the By-law for the purpose of enabling the Electors
entitled to vote on money By-law to vote on such a question.
AND WHEREAS this Council ere in receipt of a letter of
preliminary approval from the Department of Health for the taking
of such a vote, dated February ~,1949 end numbered 49.B.20.
BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED by the Municipal Council of the
Township of Pickering es follows :-
~ (1) In this By-Law 'Electors' shall mean persons
entitled to vote on money by-laws.

The votes of the Electors of the Police Village of
Picketing shall be taken of the said question on
the /~ day of ~'~.m$, AD~L~49, between the
hours' of '.. / o'c19c~ in the~Wi~6~enoon and
o'clock i~n the afte~Oon at the Town Hall, and the
Deputy Returning Officer shall be W. C. Murker.
On the ~ day of )~'~ A.D.1949 at the hour
of __~.._____ o'clock in the forenoon, the heed of the
Council of said Corporation or some member of ssid
Council appointed for that purpose by resolution
shall attend at the office of the Clerk of said
Municipality in the ssid Village of Brougham for the
purpose of appointing, and if requested so to do,
shall appoint by writing, two persons to attend the
final summing up of the votes by the Clerk and one
~erson to attend on behalf of the person interested
in and voting in the affirmative on each of said
questions, and a like numar o~ behalf of the persons
interested in s~ voting in the negative on the said
question.
On the /~ day of )~ A.D.1949 at the hour
of l0 o'clock in the forenoon at the office of the
Clerk of the l~unlcipallty, the Clerk shall attend end
sum up the votes given in the affirmative end negative
on each of the said questions.
