HomeMy WebLinkAboutBy-law 1756BY-LAW NO. 1756 By-law for stopping up end sale of a certain road allowance in the Township of Plckering. Whereas the original road allowance for a township road between lots ~ - ~? in the Fifth Concession of the Township of Pickering has ~een unused for many years and is not required for road purposes, and it is deemed expedient that it mhould be stopped up and closed as a public highway. And Whereas notices of intention to close said road allowance have appeared in tha local newspaper for four consecutive weeks immediately prior to the passing of this By-law. And Whereas no person or persons have appeared before this Council registering disapproval to the closing of said road allowance: Be It Therefore Enacted by the Municipal Council of the Township of Plckering: (11 That the sideline between lots ~6 - ~? in the Fifth Concession of the Township of Plckering be end the same is hereby stopped up and closed ss a public highway end is hereby declared to be no longer a public highway. (2) When this By-law shall have been duly confirmed and approved, the said original allowance for road shall be sold in a manner ss directed and required by law and for a price that shall be satis- factory to the Council of the Corporation, and on sale thereof shall be deeded to the purchaser. (3) This By-law shall come into force and take effect at once after it shall have been confirmed by the Council of the Corporation of the County of Ontario and received the approval of the Department of Highways. Passed this 7th day of September, 1948.
