By-law to assess the several Public School Sections and Union
Public School Sections in the Municipality of the Township of Pick-
funds for the purpose~of the said ~chool Sections,

in the year 1948.
~HEREAS the
Public School Bonrds of the several Public School
Sections and Union Public ~chool Sections in the ~unicip~lity of the
Township of Pickering have msde requisition to the Council of the
said Township for the amounts named respectively in column 2 of
schedule to this by-law for use of the said Boards in p~ying teachers,
salaries and defraying other expenses of the Public Schools resoect-
ively in the current year.
AND ~'fHEREAS by Section 112 of the
of the said liunicipsllty is required to
Public Schools Act, the Council
levy the amounts named res-
pectively in column 3 of the said schedule and to pay the same to the
several School Boards thereof for use in paying teachers' salaries,
excepting from such payments such of the School Sections as have
durlng the year employed teachers st ~ salary of less than twelve
hundred dollars per annum for any one or more teachers.
AND ~'.~ERE~IS the general school levy is being provided for nnder
another By-law of this ~orporation,
AND ;~HERET~S the respective balances required by the aforesaid
requisitions ~s entered in column 4 of the said schedule will, es
directed by the said Public Schools Act, have to be raised, levied
and collected from and upon all the rateable property in the said
School Sections respectively:
BE IT THEREFORE ENJ~CTED by the Municipal Council of the
Corpration of the Township of Pfckering:
Tlm t there be raised, levied and collected from and upon all
the rateable property in each of the Public School Sections of the
Township of Pickering, in the year 19~8, such a rate in each of the
School Sections as will be sufficient to raise the amount entered
in column 4 of the said schedule opposite the number of each such
section respectively.
