By-law to levy a ~pedial rate on the tsxable property in the
Police Village of Pickering, to defray the cost of street lights ~nd
other special purposes in the ssid Village, in the yesr 1948.
~EREAS the Trustees of the Police Village of Pickering have
msde request for the levy of e special rate of 2. mills on the
doller upon ell the rateeble property in the said Village to defray
the cost of meintsining strewt lights end meet the cost of other
sundry villsge requirements durin~ the year 1948.
AND WHEREIS the tots1 taxable 0roperty in the said Police Village
is the sum of $40Z,~Zg.9~:
BE IT T~HEFORE ENACTED by the Municipal Council of the
~ownship of Pickering:
THAT there be raised levied and collected from and uoon all
rateable property in the Police Village of Picketing, in the year
19~8, the rate or sum of 2. mills on the dollar, amounting to the
sum of $906.68 for the aforesaid purposes of the said Police Vills~e
of Plckering in the said year.
