A By-law to provide for the total 1948 expenditure on Roads in~
the Township of Pickering, in the County of Ontario.
WHEREAS The Highway Improvement Act, Chapter 56, R.$.0., 1937
and amendments requires that the total expenditure on township roads
and bridges be provided for annually by Township By-law.
THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the said Townshio
ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
(1) The sum of ~70,000.00 is hereby appropriated from monies raised
by levy, debentures ~nd ~overnment subsidy for total expenditure upon
construction and maintenance of the roads and brid~es under its Juris-
diction during the year 1948 as follows:

(2) ~he said monies shall be

expended under the direction of the duly
appointed Township l~oad Superinte~dent and on work performed in ~ccord-
ance with 'i'he Highway Improvement Act.
(3) The Clerk shall transmit duplicate cooies of this By-law to the
district office of the ~iunicipsl Ho~ds Branch, i)eo~rtment of Hi2hways,
for approval on or before ~'ebrusry 28th of the present year.
